1. Configure VirtualBox on Linux
To start the virtual machine creation process we have the following options:
- Use the key combination:
Ctrl + N
- Go to the Machine / New path.
- Click on the New icon located at the top of VirtualBox.
The following window will appear in which we will configure the following:
- Virtual machine name.
- In the Boy campaign, we select Linux.
- In the Version campaign we select Linux 2.6 / 3.x / 4.x (64 bit) (If we select another architecture, we will select the 32-bit option).
Click Next and we will set the RAM memory to a minimum of 2 GB:
Click Next again and leave the default option for the hard drive, “Create a virtual disk now”:
By pressing the Create button we select the VDI option (virtual disk image):
In the next window we will check the Dynamic reservation box regarding hard drive storage:
In the next window we will be able to change the location of the virtual machine and we need to define a hard drive with at least 15GB of storage. Click on Create to create the virtual machine.
Now we select the Kali Linux virtual machine and click on the Setting button here we are in the Screen section and in the Video memory field we set its value to 128 MB:
