Well, there is an Australian study, that reports that people having light-coloured eyes are more likely to suffer from macular degeneration as compared to dark-coloured eyes. This is due to the reason that UV light is absorbed more by the iris so the greater the damage to the retina. Ultimately, this would cause vision loss.
