Polygamy was previously illegal in the United States, including Nauvoo, Illinois. It was also illegal during the anti-polygamy crusade that brought the Latter-day Saints to Utah. However, some of the Saints practiced polygamy despite the laws.
They follow the Sabbath
Mormons follow the Sabbath, the day after the week ends, as a sacred day. The Church teaches that it should be observed from midnight to midnight and that its members should attend church for its full three-hour schedule. This schedule includes a traditional worship service that lasts about an hour and ten minutes, during which members take the Sacrament. The Church requires children to attend church from the age of 18 months. Infants and toddlers attend a nursery class, while children aged three to six attend regular classes, including a music lesson.
