Actress Joey King, who largely rose to fame on social media for her portrayal of Elle Evans, won’t feel guilty about choosing to play three characters in the teen romance comedy “Kissing Booth” between 2018 and 2021.
With 203.9 million hours seen in its first 28 days, the second installment is still the eighth most-watched Netflix original film. The trilogy “The Kissing Booth” may have topped Netflix’s viewing figures, but critics harshly criticized it.
During the promotion of her newest action film, “Bullet Train,” King said, “I couldn’t be prouder of those flicks.”
“They were extremely dear to me, and I enjoyed playing that part so much. Regardless of what anyone says, I will never regret seeing those movies because I adore them.”
King also said she has come into herself over the last couple of years and now feels more at ease with who she is. She feels confident in her personal qualities. As you now genuinely believe in yourself, it comes with standing up for yourself and what you believe in.
Although ‘Critics frequently criticized the Kissing Booth movies, King claimed that the trilogy was ‘critic-proof’ in 2020. She is aware that critics weren’t raving about this film, but the truth is that it wasn’t intended for them to exclaim, “Wow, what a movie!” It’s intended for people to enjoy themselves while watching. King shared her views on the issue.
Joey exclaims that she is grateful that she was able to perform “The Act,” which received positive reviews. However, only some things you accomplish must be well-received by critics. That does not imply that it is unsuccessful. It also doesn’t necessarily mean that it wasn’t one of her favorite projects to work on. As far as how it fills my heart, the fan response to it is all the critique she needs.
Jacob Elordi, who played her love interest in the movies, appeared in The Kissing Booth as the lead. Based on the books by Beth Reekles, the series centers on Elle Evans (Joey), who runs a kissing booth during her best friend’s wedding and ends up falling for her longtime infatuation, which also happens to be his brother.
Joey King’s Notable Performances:
Life for Jacob and Joey started to resemble the movies as they started dating soon after meeting on the first movie’s set in 2017. News of the two allegedly calling it quits surfaced before the premiere of the second movie in 2019. In 2021, Netflix released The Kissing Booth 3—the last installment in the series.
How Joey King bids Goodbye to “The Kissing Booth” series?
-
Favorite on-set moment:
Her birthday was one of my favorite moments. She had a barbecue meal on the beach thanks to the cast. They lavished Joey with gifts, and her famous friends got together to cherish our connection. She longs for the days spent with them.
-
What she saved from the set:
Numerous clothing items, including this favorite pair of shorts, were mine to retain. But one of the wigs she used in the movie is what she wanted to preserve, simply for fun. She wore a partial wig in the first movie, so it looked like half of her head. The entire wig was used in the second and third films. But she detested those wigs.

She is sending a final kiss to:
She is going to go with Rachel’s actress Meganne. She is devastated because she misses her and is in Canada. Joey also wants to kiss her and tell her how much she loves her and how she cannot imagine life without her.
-
Joey’s message to her fans:
While she was Elle, she experienced some of my fondest memories and some of the most trying times. That’s a significant component of who she is. It is a treat to see other people enjoy these movies and characters as much as she does and share our laughter. So we appreciate you sharing our laughter all these years.
-
She has something she wants to tell Elle:
Joey had a lot of pleasure playing with her, laughing with her, and making these memories with her because she’s such a strong woman with a great head on her shoulders. So she appreciates you allowing her to fill your shoes!
