Droupadi Murmu

Shri Ram Nath Kovind 

Indian politician Shri Ram Nath Kovind presided over India as its 14th president from 25 July 2017 until 21 July 2022. He was the first citizen of his home state of Uttar Pradesh to hold the office of President of India. Former Bihar governor Ram Nath Kovind held this position. 

Pranab Mukherjee

From 2012 till he became India’s 13th President in 2017, Pranab Mukherjee was a politician and government representative in India. At 84, Pranab Mukherjee died on 31 August 2020 following a protracted illness.

Pratibha Patil 

India’s first female President was Pratibha Patil. She was in office as India’s 12th president from 2007 until 2012. Patil held the role of governor of Rajasthan from 2004 till her election as President in 2007, making her the first woman to do so.

Space physicist Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam led India as its eleventh president from 2002 to 2007. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, also known as A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, was an Indian scientist and politician who was instrumental in developing nuclear and missile technology.

Kocheril Raman Narayanan

Three times in a row, Kocheril Raman Narayanan represented the Ottapalam constituency as his MP (1984, 1989, 1991). He was named Minister of State (Planning, Foreign Affairs, Science and Technology) in Rajiv Gandhi’s administration in 1985. 

Shankar Dayal Sharma

In office from 1992 until 1997, Shankar Dayal Sharma was India’s ninth president. He served as Madhya Pradesh’s Minister of Education, Law, and Public Affairs from April 1952 to November 1956. 

Ramaswamy Venkataraman

Ramaswamy Venkataraman was once a liberation warrior and was elected India’s ninth president in 1987. 1992 marked the conclusion of his tenure as President of India. He got the Soviet Land Award from Russia and the Tamura Patra Award from India.

Giani Zail Singh

In 1982, India’s President was the Punjabi Prime Minister. During his five years in office, he faced dangerous situations, including the anti-Sikh riots, Operation Blue Star, and the assassination of Indira Gandhi.

Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy

As the first president chosen without a vote, he made history. He rose to become President from the Speaker of the House office, which he held until 1982.

Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed

He was the second of his presidents to pass away in office after Hussein. He held the position for three years, from 1974 to 1977.

Varahagiri Venkata Giri 

From 1969 to 1974, he presided over the country. For the Indian presidential election, he was the only independent contender. He also received Bharat and Ratna in 1975.

Dr Zakir Hussain

Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan

Dr Rajendra Prasad
